Those who feel called dedicate their entire life for witnessing to the Gospel in missionary and/or pastoral work in different parts of the world. Others support those who are active in the field, to pursue their vision ardently and to fulfill their mission of serving God’s kingdom, through prayer, encouragement, financial assistance or even by a visit or a short term involvement.

PRAYING for Missions

Something every Christian can do and should do! Young or old, sick or healthy, working or retired, … all can pray for the coming of the Kingdom. While it helps and consoles the missionaries and opens the heart of those who hear the good news, it makes the one who prays more docile to God’s will. And, by praying for others you are praying for yourself.

GIVING to the Missions

Giving to the mission is the next level of missionary involvement. Missions are mostly in the developing nations in Asia and Africa. People in these developing nations lack everything from the basic human needs of food, shelter and clothing to higher needs of health, education, a decent means of living. Missionaries are trying, in various ways, to give them what they need to lead a life befitting a child of God. Missionaries need a lot of financial support for establishing and running new missions, setting up various charitable and empowerment programs, giving training and formation. By donating to the missions, you are in fact actively involving in mission through those who are called to be in the forefront. Gifts, donations, endowments, wills, bequests, …. Are ways to give to the missions.

GOING to the Missions

If you love Jesus and the people in the mission lands, you may take a further step in missionary collaboration by going to the missions for a visit or a short or long term service. This would add a new dimension to your praying and giving. Your visit can be a great boost to the missionaries and the communities they serve. You can render your expertise in education and formation, technical training and humanitarian work; you can also get to learn from the people. Going to mission often changes people, their perspectives, their own lives. Opportunities abound.

KNOWING about Missions

You cannot love the missions without knowing about the missions. And when you are actively involved in the missions, you have a right to know more about missions. An ongoing collaboration means also an ongoing knowing.
